»hello world« is an invitation to explore the connection between the digital and analogue experience of photography with the help of E-Paper Display-Technology, everyday photographs and quotations. Referring to E.M. Forster's short story “The Machine Stops” from 1909, in which humanity blindly follows a machine that controls their life and their world. The work gets the recipient into dialogue about the advantages of e-paper displays compared to conventional screens and printing processes. It questions technological innovation and the speed of progress through a technology that by itself doesn't seem innovative and already failed the attempt to replace the printed book as such.

[...] Es ist also tatsächlich etwas aufzubauen, etwas ›Künstliches‹, ›Gestelltes‹.«
